Philip is an experienced IT professional with extensive technical and commercial experience gained over 25 years working across technical, project management and commercial roles within the IT industry. He has extensive leadership experience in both technical and commercial environments and has worked across government, academia and industry.

Philip is a Software Engineering Masters graduate with a strong technical background across multiple technologies including core software systems, business process management, cryptography, access control (physical and electronic) and network security. He has worked in high-tech start-ups and SMEs, as well as several blue-chip multinational companies across multiple sectors including telecommunications, financial services and cybersecurity.

He is Chairman of the Aerospace, Defence and Security (ADS) NI Defence and Security Special Interest Group, and also represents the UK Government in international standardisation activity as Working Party Vice-Chair at the Security Group of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
